A north-east cancer charity is calling out for people of all ages to attend a launch night next month ahead of its big relay event in 2020.
Relay for Life Peterhead is encouraging people of all ages to attend their launch night at the Buchanhaven Hearts Social Club on Thursday, November 14, at 7.30pm.
A spokeswoman for the organisation said: “We welcome back returning teams and hope to see new faces joining us.”
The relay is a 24-hour event at Lord Catto Park in Peterhead, which falls on the first weekend of July.
On the day, teams of cancer survivors, friends and families walk or run round the track and take part in games and activities to promote awareness.
Relay for Life Peterhead has raised more than £2 million for Cancer Research UK over the past 19 years.
The spokeswoman added: “It’s a phenomenal amount of money to come from our little corner in the north-east, and a huge thank you goes out to everyone who was involved in any way over the years.
“f you want to join relay to raise even more money for this worthwhile cause, then enter a team.”
The money raised by fundraisers ahead of the event helps cancer patients both locally and nationally.
Registration will open next month at www.cancerresearchuk.org
