A north-east cancer charity is encouraging local companies to go “outrageously orange” to raise money for the cause.
People all over the UK will be wearing the bright colour next Friday to raise money for people with cancer – and Maggie’s staff in Aberdeen yesterday appealed for people to get involved.
Centre head at Maggie’s Aberdeen, Kevin Mathieson, said: “I can’t wait to see the wonderful events that people in the north east come up with to help make our very first Go Outrageously Orange a success.
“Maggie’s Aberdeen relies entirely on voluntary donations to allow us to keep on developing our unique programme of free support for all those living with cancer in the area.”
The local branch is built in the grounds of Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and the charity’s aim is to make the biggest difference possible to people living with cancer and their family and friends.
The centre follows the ideas about cancer care laid out by Maggie Keswick Jencks, who lived with advanced cancer for two years.
