A booming Broch family business has celebrated the official opening of its new High Street premises – which it is hoped will bring more shoppers into the town.
Billy Walker Joinery Services has relocated to the three-part store on the corner of High Street and Cross Street in Fraserburgh.
The keys to the former clothes shop were handed over to owners Billy and Linda Walker in February and they have been renovating the property since.
Mr Walker originally started the joinery firm after being told by his butcher father to “get a trade of his own”.
After working for the last six years with his wife at their shop at 29 School Street, the couple decided more space was needed.
Since the move business has gone “through the roof” and the family celebrated the boost they would bring to the town centre on Saturday.
Mrs Walker said: “Any business moving to the High Street is a welcome boost.
“We’ve had customers travelling from Aberdeen and beyond to see our showroom and have had many compliments on how it is looking. We definitely think our business encourages visitors to Fraserburgh.
“Our premises is on such a prominent site and would be such a shame if it had been boarded up like some of the other properties in the area.
“There seems to be more interest in the town with several businesses relocating recently which is encouraging.”
