One of the biggest drag shows in the world is heading to Aberdeen in 2020.
RuPaul’s Drag Race is set to delight fans of the popular show with an all-new production next year at P&J Live.
The tour, called “Werq the World” will tour all across Europe in 2020 and will come to the brand new P&J Live venue on May 6.
It will be the first time the wonderful world of RuPaul’s Drag Race will come to the north-east.
The first season of the UK version of the smash-hit TV show hit screens last month.
The reality competition is hosted by the legendary drag performer RuPaul and aims to find the next drag superstar.
It follows the same format as the US version where contestants compete in mini challenges that test a specific skill.
It can include make up design or “reading” which is pointing out someone’s flaws.
The final of the television show features drag contestants taking on the Maxi challenge where they might be asked to perform in front of a panel of judges.
The tour version of the show is set to delight fans in the north-east.
The 20-date tour with shows in Paris, Lisbon and Madrid will kick off in Aberdeen.
Louise Stewart, head of entertainment at P&J Live said: “We are extremely thrilled to bring RuPaul’s Drag Race to the north-east for the first time in May.
“We know the show will be well received by their fans, as they kick off their tour in Aberdeen.”
Known for its over the top production the winner of the first season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK will join the “trans-continental extravaganza”.
A synopsis for the show said: “In 2020, an experiment gone wrong has sent Drag Race judge and Strictly Dancing star Michelle Visage spiralling through time with no way of returning ‘home’.
“Join Asia O’hara Detox, Kameron Michaels, Kim Chi, Monet X Change, Plastique Tiara, Shea Coulee, Vanessa ‘Vanjie’ Mateo, Yvie Oddly and the soon to be announced Season one winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, as they journey through iconic periods of history in the hope they will find their way back to present day.
“The 2020 tour steps it up once again, with production value rivalling any pop concert. With the inaugural show set to shock Aberdeen, don’t miss out on the world’s largest drag production as it sashays across the continent.”
Tickets for the show are available on the P&J Live website.
