Emergency services were in attendance at an incident on King Street last weekend.
A man has been charged following the recovery of chemicals from a property on King Street in Aberdeen.
The road was shut from Saturday evening into the early hours of Sunday morning while police, fire teams and a bomb squad attended an alleged incident near the Tesco shop and petrol station.
Police are now working alongside the fire service, as well as an explosive ordnance disposal team, to safely remove the chemicals from a property on the road.
A cordon has been put in place around the property, and nearby residents have been moved temporarily into alternative accommodation while the operation continues.
Chief Inspector Darren Bruce, area commander for Aberdeen City North said: “As always, our priority is the safety of the public.
“We have moved residents as a precaution, and are working with local partners to provide appropriate advice and support.
“I’d like to reiterate my thanks to the residents and surrounding community for their patience and understanding while our inquiries continue.”
A 26-year-old man has been charged and will appear in Aberdeen Sheriff Court in relation to the incident.
