A special mass has been held at in Banff following the appointment of a new priest.
The congregation of Our Lady of Mount Carmel came together to welcome Father Piotr Rytel.
After six years in Inverness, he accepted the offer from Bishop Hugh Gilbert to become parish priest.
Father Piotr said: “I was truly humbled and honoured when Bishop Hugh asked me.
“It is indeed a new challenge and I ask for everyone to pray for me in my new role.
“OLMC has special challenges too as it is blessed with a diverse community – English speaking parishioners and a large group of Polish people.
“I’m a priest from Poland and my bilingual skills can help to unite us all together in the parish.”
Bishop Gilbert said: “Father Piotr will be bringing the Word and the Sacraments and his gifts of steady friendliness and loyal service, to the banks of the River Deveron and the southern shores of the Moray Firth. He has the good wishes of all.”
