Fireworks will be set-off from of the roof of His Majesty’s Theatre in a stunning midnight display this Hogmanay.
The show is just one part of Aberdeen’s festive events calendar, the details of which were unveiled yesterday.
The council and Aberdeen Inspired will open the Christmas Village attraction on Broad Street and Upperkirkgate on November 21.
A switch-on ceremony for Aberdeen’s Christmas tree, which is gifted by the city’s twin city of Stavanger in Norway, will take place the same day.
On Hogmanay, the fireworks will follow live music from One night of Queen by Gary Mullen and The Works on Schoolhill.
Culture spokeswoman councillor Marie Boulton said: “Christmas in Aberdeen is shaping up to be a truly magical time of year, with an outstanding events line-up that is bigger and better than ever.
“Our vision for the city is to create a programme that provides an opportunity to promote and enhance the long-term economic prosperity of Aberdeen and the wider region by attracting visitors, both local and from further afield.”
