Open champion Paul Lawrie has urged people across the north-east to wear the poppy with pride and pay their respects to those who have perished in conflict.
The 1999 winner at Carnoustie was among the many Granite City stalwarts who took time to throw his support behind this year’s Aberdeen Poppy Day.
Mr Lawrie said: “I know how important it is to try and raise as much as we can for Poppyscotland.
“We should all be grateful for the job the servicemen and servicewomen did and continue to do today.
“It is important to do your bit and I am delighted to help out. The poppy appeal is a big deal – and rightly so.”
