Councillors will debate a petition next week calling for a lorry ban on several city streets next week.
Seaton residents have long complained about heavy vehicles making their way down School Road, Golf Road/Park Road and Park Street.
Frustration has also been mounting over speeding on the streets.
A petition was launched locally gathering more than 250 signatures.
It is hoped a weight restriction will be introduced as well as a speed camera to deter motorists from driving too fast along the routes, which have been described as a rat run.
Now councillors on next week’s operations committee will debate the issue and see whether it can be progressed.
The group launched a similar petition in 2017, which was signed by 160 people, however no action was taken.
