Two popular outdoor activity groups have merged in an effort to broaden the range of outdoor pursuits available in Aberdeen.
Adventure Aberdeen, at Kingswells, and Aberdeen Snowsports Centre, on Garthdee Road, have now come under the same umbrella.
The snowports facility will now be known as Adventure Aberdeen Snowsports following the move.
It is hoped that by bringing these two outdoor adventure services together, more people will seek to try out their offerings.
Sport Aberdeen, the charitable trust which runs several of the city’s leisure venues, orchestrated the merger.
Adventure Aberdeen will now be able to host more activities than it ever has before, such as skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, climbing, hill-walking and water-based sports.
Chairman of Sport Aberdeen, Tony Dawson, said: “Bringing these fantastic outdoor adventurous activity services together to join forces is a very exciting move for Sport Aberdeen and the whole of the north-east, giving people the opportunity to enjoy utilising the outdoor environment and develop new skills.
“Our venues in Kingswells and Garthdee offer group activities, lessons, holiday camps, parties, and public sessions, while our recently refurbished residential facility in Cromdale offers schools, community and business groups an exciting opportunity to enjoy some of the most spectacular water and land-based activity sites in Scotland.”
