A teenager will appear in court today following an alleged disturbance at an Aberdeenshire school.
Police were called to Portlethen Academy at about 1.30pm yesterday following reports of a disturbance outside.
Nobody was injured.
It is understood no weapon was involved.
A 16-year-old is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today in connection with the incident.
Sergeant Mark Conner said: “Officers responded to reports of a disturbance outside Portlethen Academy at around 1.35pm on November 13.
“I would like to reassure the local community that this was an isolated incident, and no one was injured as a result.”
A spokeswoman for Aberdeenshire Council added: “We are working closely with Police Scotland and we’d like to reassure parents and the wider community that the school is secure, and that the safety of our pupils and staff will always be our first priority.”
