A north-east cat lover has donated a mountain of cat food to her favourite animal sanctuary ahead of her eighth birthday.
Sienna Falconer, from Memsie, asked for her birthday money in advance, so she could purchase food for the felines at Willows Animal Sanctuary.
The youngster will be eight on December 31, but decided she wanted to hand over the food at the centre’s pre-Christmas event last week.
Her mum Amy West explained that Willows, near Strichen, is one of Sienna’s favourite places to visit.
She said: “For her eighth birthday, Sienna wanted to use her birthday money to donate food to the animals at Willows Animal Sanctuary.
“She loves the animals and is obsessed with cats which are her favourite.
“Her birthday is actually in December, but she got her money earlier as we were at the Christmas event where all the proceeds went back into the charity.
“She visits every few months with her grandma Donna and is always asking to go again.”
The sanctuary currently looks after more than 450 animals including at least 100 horses, ponies and donkeys, more than 200 farm animals and birds, approximately 60 cats and dogs, and many reptiles and small animals.
Willow’s yard manager Vikky McDonald said: “It’s a wonderful donation and it makes such a big difference, especially at this time of year.
“We’d like to say a big thanks for the kind gesture.”
The charity are currently appealing for donations of horse feed in particular ahead of the winter months for other members of the public who wish to get involved.
