More than 1,500 people enjoyed a day of festive fun in Peterhead at the weekend.
Light Up Peterhead included a variety of entertainment, such as a lorry parade, a visit from the Cairngorm reindeer, fairground rides, stalls and even an ice rink.
There was also performance throughout the day from groups including the Slessor School of Dance, Modo Circus and Burnhaven School Choir.
The Christmas tree was then switched on at 5pm to cheers from the crowd, followed by a fireworks display.
Chairwoman Jackie Matthew said: “I’m really delighted with the turn-out this year, even though the weather wasn’t great there was easily double the number of people who came along this year.”
“I’d like to say thanks to everyone who helped and for everyone who came along that made this years event such a big success.”
The Light Up Peterhead committee praised Rediscover Peterhead for their help in getting the new lights in place on Queen Street.
The team is already looking forward to making the 2020 event even bigger and better.
Local councillor Dianne Beagrie said the day had given the town centre a real boost.
She said: “What a fantastic day for Peterhead. The whole town had a great feeling about it and the shops and cafes were all very busy, we appreciate everyone coming to the event. Putting on the day takes month and months of planning.
“The switch on event was fantastic followed by the lorry parade and fireworks. The small committee do a power of work.”
