People in a north-east community are being encouraged to have their say on what additions they’d like to see during the development of a town trail.
As part of the Peterhead Regeneration programme, organisers are striving to create new aspects to the popular outdoor attraction.
The post on Peterhead: Focusing on the Future said: “We are proud to have a wonderful town trail which highlights over four hundred years of history, stories, events, local scandals, gossip and sensations.”
“The trail is made up of a short route, which concentrates on the town centre and harbour, with an optional longer walk along the northern edge, which takes in beaches, wildlife and some of Buchan’s fabulous coastline.”
“There will be a meeting to discuss how to develop the trail further from re-introducing guided walks, adding additional panels and promoting the trail to attract more visitors to Peterhead.”
Those interested in sharing their views and feedback or for anyone interested in attending the meeting can comment on the Peterhead: Focusing on the Future Facebook post, email peterheadtownteam@aberdeenshire.gov.uk or call the Peterhead Town Centre Project Officer on 01467 536534.
The date and location of the meeting has still to be confirmed.
The trail features 400 years worth of history in the Blue Toon with storyboards sharing tales of smugglers, witches, ghosts and pirates. Highlights of the 21-stop journey include the plight of Auld Harry in the harbour and a number of harrowing witch trials.
