One of the world’s most popular singers will dazzle audiences in the north-east with spectacular shows tonight and tomorrow.
And increased efforts are being made to ensure concert-goers reach the region’s newest entertainment venue with ease to see Michael Buble perform.
Extra buses will be supplied to bring fans to P&J Live, after some motorists struggled to reach the arena last week and raised concerns about a lack of public transport.
Bus firms Stagecoach has announced plans to lay on dedicated services for people venturing to the Bucksburn site to see the Canadian crooner.
It is expected the Haven’t Met You Yet chart-topper will take to the stage in front of capacity crowds at 8pm – and with no support, audiences are being urged to arrive in plenty of time.
Stagecoach bosses said that the new services would be part of a new trial, which will benefit people travelling from the north to P&J Live via the A96 Inverness to Aberdeen road as well as others venturing in from Aberdeenshire.
Free services will be run from the park and ride facilities at Kingswells and Craibstone, leaving every half hour from 5.30pm.
Special buses will be run from Stonehaven and Ellon depending on demand and must be booked in advance.
The established PJ1 service will also be available from the city centre.
The service departs Union Square bus station and will operate every eight minutes.
Return journeys will be offered to the city centre, Kingswells, Craibstone, Ellon and Stonehaven after the concert.
Daniel Laird, commercial director at Stagecoach Bluebird, said: “This trial will help us to understand the demand for services to P&J Live.”
Nick Waight, managing director at P&J Live, said: “In light of the issues surrounding road access and parking at P&J Live, we have worked, and still are, working closely with transport providers to implement additional measures for shows.
“We want our visitors to have a positive experience when they attend P&J Live. We urge everyone attending Michael Buble – and any future show – to plan ahead and not leave their transport to the late minute. But above all, we hope everyone has a fantastic night and enjoys what is set to be a great show.”
