A young otter has been rescued after being found wandering down a busy street in Inverurie. The pup was spotted by a member of the public who then took him to a local vet. The Scottish SPCA was contacted and he is now in the care of its National Wildlife Rescue Centre in Alloa. The team at the Scottish SPCA believe he was separated from his mother during the recent flooding. Since the baby otter is under a year, the charity will care for him until he is old enough before releasing him back into the wild. A spokeswoman said: “He will stay with us until he is a year old as that’s how long otters stay with their mothers in the wild.”
