‘We love him loads and just want him to come home’: Partner of missing Banchory man issues emotional appeal to get him home safely

The girlfriend of a missing Aberdeenshire man has issued a heartfelt plea for him to return home.

David Strachan, 51, was last seen at around 9pm on Tuesday,  November 19 in the Wilson Road area of Banchory.

Although police have been carrying out extensive investigations, including a search of the River Dee with dive teams, door-to-door inquiries and CCTV analysis, no trace of him has yet been found.

Last night, Mr Strachan’s girlfriend, Denise Sanders, asked anyone with information about his whereabouts to phone the authorities.

She said: “I do believe he’s still alive, that’s my gut instinct and I’ve not wavered from that at all.

“It’s all really upsetting, and we’re really worried about the state of his health, but he is a survivor.

“We know he has done this in the past.

David Murray Strachan was last seen on Wilson Road in Banchory.

“I’ve been told by a few people that he’s gone off by his own before, but to go the way that he did, just getting up and walking out with no cheerio or a ‘see you later’, it’s worrying.

“He’s said to us that he’s lived and survived homeless before. We love him loads and just want him to come home, or let us know he’s somewhere safe.”

She added: “His wider family, and all his friends here and all over the UK…. We’re all thinking about him and we want him to get in contact.

“I’d like the general public to be on high alert – look in all cars, all caravans, everywhere with a roof over its heads, just please keep checking.”

Mr Strachan was last seen on Tuesday, November 19

When Mr Strachan was last seen, he was wearing black jeans, a blue fleece top, a black V-neck jumper, and a red shirt.

He is white, around 5ft 10in, and has short fair hair.

Mr Strachan is a car mechanic by trade, and originally from Perth. He moved to Banchory last year.

He has a tattoo with an emblem of a Saltire on his upper right arm, and on his left arm, he has a tattoo with a Celtic knot design.

His girlfriend added: “We miss him really badly.”

Anyone with information is urged to phone the police on 101.
