An elderly man was taken to hospital with “serious injuries” after being hit by a vehicle in a north-east town.
Bridge Street in Ellon ground to a halt following the collision, which took place shortly after 9am.
The road was closed as paramedics and police officers made their way to the scene, near to the Ythan Bakery.
A police spokesman said: “We received a call about a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle at 9.10am on Monday morning.
“An 84-year-old was then taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.
“We do not believe the injuries to be life-threatening.”
