The family of a 56-year-old man found dead at the weekend in Aberdeen have paid tribute to him.
Emergency services were called on Saturday morning to Ruthrieston Crescent and the area was cordoned off while officers carried out an investigation.
Police today named the man as Alan Geddes from Aberdeen and his family paid tribute to him.
In a statement through the police, they said: “We are heartbroken to share the news that Alan was tragically taken from us on the 7 December 2019.
“Alan was a devoted dad, brother, uncle and friend. He will be remembered for his selfless loving nature and will be sorely missed by all.
“As a family we respectfully ask for privacy at this time.”
Detective Inspector Carron McKellar said: “My thoughts are with the family and friends of Alan at this extremely difficult time.
“Our inquiries continue and I would urge anyone who believes they may have information relevant to our investigation to call us on 101, quoting reference number 0951 of 7 December 2019.”
Today a 33-year-old appeared in court in connection with Mr Geddes’ death.
Stuart Quinn, of no fixed abode, faced one charge of murder at the private hearing at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
He made no plea and was remanded in custody.
