New street lighting will be installed in a north-east town to resolve the concerns of residents.
A resident of Glenbuchty Place in Fraserburgh raised concerns with councillor Brian Topping over street lighting and, as a result, a new light will be installed at the turning area in January.
The current street lights at Glenbuchty Place were criticised by a concerned resident who feels they provide “little light to the area”, raising concerns for health and safety and heightening fears it could potentially “benefit criminals.”
Mr Topping said: “I’ve had quite a few people approaching me saying they didn’t like these new lights.”
He contacted the council after the issue was flagged to him, went to see the lighting for himself, and asked somebody from the council to look at the situation.
