A woman has been sexually assaulted in the city centre of Aberdeen.
Police are now investigating the incident, which took place at around 2am on Sunday, December 15 on South Mount Street in the Rosemount area of Aberdeen.
The road extends from its junction with Skene Street, at the Noose and Monkey pub, to Rosemount Place close to Crolla’s Gelateria.
Officers have said a 34-year-old woman was uninjured following the assault, but was left shaken.
The attacker is described as a man around 5ft 9in tall, with average build.
At the time of the attack, he was wearing a dark beanie hat with coloured stripes, a dark hooded jacket, and he was wearing a dark backpack.
Detective Sergeant Kevin McGhee said: “We have had no similar incidents of this nature reported, but we are keen to identify this man as soon as possible and would urge anyone who can help to come forward.
“I would ask anyone who was in the area of Rosemount Viaduct and South Mount Street, heading towards Westburn Park, to think back and let us know if you may have seen a man matching this description.
“Anyone who can help can call the police on 101.”
