A “dedicated” north-east woman has been recognised for nearly 25 years of volunteering.
Val Cadd, from Stonehaven, was presented with a lifetime achievement award on Tuesday for her work at the Invercarron Resource Centre.
Mrs Cadd has been volunteering at the centre, which offers day care services to older people, since it first opened in 1995.
The good samaritan has also has been running a weekly seated exercise class on an entirely voluntary basis since 2001, as well as helping out at the weekly lunch club and with teas and coffees.
Raymond Christie, of Stonehaven Community Council, said: “She has been a great volunteer for 20 years.
“We have lots of great volunteers in Stonehaven and Aberdeenshire and hopefully others follow her lead.”
The honour was presented by Sandra McGuigan of Aberdenshire Voluntary Action, who said: “It was an absolute pleasure to present Val Cadd with a lifetime achievement volunteer award.
“Val has has been a dedicated volunteer at the Invercarron Resource Centre for over 24 years.”
