Coastguard stations across the north-east are calling for people to step and join their ranks.
The Stonehaven and Cruden Bay stations have joined a national appeal to bolster their ranks and recruit new volunteers across the country.
The HM Coastguard serve as the UK’s 999 maritime emergency service, and is responsible for search and rescue operations at sea and around the nation’s coast.
Senior coastal operations officer for north Aberdeenshire and the city area, Calum Christie, said: “With people changing jobs or current requirements changing on an operational basis, we find ourselves needing more man power.
“We take people from all walks of life, who are all there for the same thing.
“To save lives and help others, the camaraderie is great. I have seen firsthand the individuals working together and it is fantastic to see.”
Recruitment is open until January 31, and people can request an application form by sending an e-mail to area3@mcga.gov.uk
