A public meeting will be held in Fraserburgh this month to discuss plans to break a CPR world record.
Paul Greenall from mental health charity Y Suffer in Silence is “determined” locals could beat the Guiness World Record of having the most people being trained at one time to do CPR over an eight hour period.
Mr Greenall said: “I really think it’s something we can accomplish and what an achievement it would be for Fraserburgh. We just need to get the people behind us to make it happen and that’s what the meeting is all about.”
The meeting will be held on January 23 at 6pm in learning room one at Fraserburgh Swimming Pool.
The idea for the event was inspired by a writing project Mr Greenall is working on called The New Shire Post. After speaking to first responders, the idea came to light about teaching more people how to do CPR.
It is hoped the CPR event will take place this year and as well as teaching people life saving skills, it will also raise money for charity.
Those taking part would be awarded a certificate if the record is broken.
