An Aberdeen man who prompted a week-long manhunt over the festive period has been let off with breaching a court order.
John Middleton forced “considerable and extensive” efforts from officers to trace him, with police warning the public not to approach him.
The 21-year-old, of North Anderson Drive, had last been seen on December 27 in Torry and was finally tracked down on Saturday.
On a previous appearance at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, Middleton was put on curfew for a racially aggravated verbal attack at a city strip club.
He has also been given anti-social behaviour order banning him from being anywhere in the city centre while under the influence of alcohol or other substances.
Yesterday at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, Middleton’s solicitor Kevin Longino said his client was admitting breaching a court order – but pleaded for him to be spared any further punishment.
Sheriff Margaret Hodge admonished the 21-year-old and agreed.
