A group of Aberdeen Rainbows have issued a desperate plea for volunteers, fearing they may have to disband without extra help.
Thousands of girls aged 5-7 attend Rainbow meetings across the UK every week, taking part in activities including games, sports, and arts and crafts.
But the 1st Mastrick Rainbows have raised concerns these may have come to an end as, without a new leader, they will be forced to close.
The group needs two women over the age of 18 to take charge if it is to continue.
Leader Kimberly Loughlin said helping the youngsters can be immensely rewarding.
“You’re giving back to your community and there’s a real sense of pride and achievement as you see these girls grow up,” she said.
“You can help them learn things they wouldn’t normally learn, and give them opportunities they might not otherwise get outwith the Rainbows.”
The unit meets from 5.45-7pm on Mondays during term-term at Mastrick Community Centre.
The leader position is voluntary and does not require any prior qualifications. Those interested will receive full training at no cost.
Mrs Loughlin added: “We’re looking for someone who’s enthusiastic and up for a challenge and who gets on well with kids.”
