A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a one-vehicle crash on a north-east road.
The A98 near to New Byth was shut for eastbound traffic and diversions put in place via the B9105 and the B9027 after the incident at 7.20am.
Motorists were urged to allow extra time for their journey this morning while they deal with it.
Two fire crews from Turriff and Macduff made the scene safe and “cut a door off the vehicle”, a spokeswoman for the service said.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police were called around 7.15am this morning to reports of a road crash involving one vehicle. One man has has been injured and believe he has been taken to hospital.”
An ambulance spokeswoman said: ““We received a call at 7.10am to attend a road traffic collision on the A98 near New Byth, Aberdeenshire. One ambulance and the trauma team were dispatched to the scene and one patient was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for further treatment.”
The road reopened at 9am.
