Women recovering from addiction at a north-east centre have started a new annual tradition after enjoying a day of activities at a nearby church.
Women from the Teen Challenge Benaiah centre, which is near Mintlaw, spent a day at the Apex Centre in Peterhead, which is run by the Apex Church, carrying out activities such as a “Come Dine with Me” style challenge where they prepared meals.
Playing a variety of games, the group got to show their competitive sides and have some fun as part of their recovery from substance abuse.
Grace Donn, senior support worker at Benaiah, said: “We thought it would be a good idea for all of us to eat and spend some time together, and the day was such a success that we plan on doing something similar every January.
“It’s such a nice way to start the year.”
