Transport bosses are looking at options for a new walking and cycling route between Westhill and Kingswells.
Nestrans has launched a consultation on plans for an active travel corridor by the A944 Aberdeen to Westhill road.
The proposals would include a segregated cycle path alongside the main road and are aimed at reducing the number of car journeys on the western boundary of the city.
The study, to be carried out by Placecheck, will influence the route, with recommendations to be given to both Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire councils to shape the plans.
Members of the public, especially those using the existing cycle infrastructure are being invited to give comments using an interactive map.
Nestrans chairwoman Sandra Macdonald said: “This corridor is already well used by cyclists and pedestrians in its current form and we have a great opportunity to create a flagship segregated corridor.
“I’d encourage everyone who lives in the area to take part in the consultation to get as much feedback from local people as possible.”
Sessions are also being held with community representatives and interested groups to hear their input.
People can take part in the Placecheck here.
