Police have charged two people in connection to “a number of road offences” after the same vehicle was involved in two collisions in Aberdeenshire last night.
A 42-year-old man and 33-year-old woman were arrested after the incidents in Inverurie and Port Elphinstone at around 9.45pm.
Elphinstone Road was blocked off from public use after the second of the two collisions.
Witnesses reported a “heavy police presence” at the scene, where a car remained with its door ajar.
No one was hurt in either crash.
Both the man and woman are expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court tomorrow.
Constable Katie Donald said: “Due to the assistance of members of the public, for which we are grateful, we were able to trace the male quickly and arrest him close by.
“The female was later traced at an address in Inverurie.”
