It is understood the machine became unstable on the pavement in Frederick Street while he was working at height this morning. The van the height platform is mounted to appeared to have tipped towards a nearby building. The trapped man was not hurt. Firefighters were called to his aid at around 11.55am. He was safely back on solid ground within around 30 minutes. A spokeswoman for the service said: “We helped a man stuck in a cherry picker. “The machine fell on the pavement and it is unstable.” The road was closed to traffic to allow emergency service access. Firefighters left the scene at around 1pm.
