A charity with north-east roots is to celebrate 40 years of helping people with a black tie ball in Aberdeen.
Cornerstone is marking its ruby anniversary by hosting the Sparkle and Shine fundraiser at the city’s Chester Hotel on April 24.
And the charity has announced it has secured UK chart-topper Mica Paris as the show-stopping entertainment.
The singer, who shot to fame in the late 80s, will perform for guests at the west end hotel, where there will be special guests and a live auction too.
Founded in the north-east in 1980, Cornerstone has grown into a national charity supporting adults, children and young people across Scotland with a variety of needs including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, down syndrome and dementia.
During 2018-2019, the charity supported more than 3,313 people, making it the second largest care provider in the country.
Lisa Duthie, leader of the Cornerstone Foundation, said: “In this our 40th anniversary year, we are inviting our supporters to join us at the Sparkle and Shine black tie ball to mark this significant milestone and raise vital funds that will continue to help transform lives across Scotland for years to come”.
