An overseas holiday and a meal with friends are on the cards for a north-east man who scooped £500 in the Press and Journal’s New Year Cash Giveaway.
Six lucky readers are celebrating the start to 2020 with a share of £3,000 after striking it lucky in the hotly contested competition.
Over six days in January, readers were asked six questions about events taking place this year – with all those who answered every one correctly entered into a prize draw.
One entry pulled from the hat belonged to Robert Craib from Inverbervie, who was delighted to receive the £500 reward.
The retired production manager, 69, said he was “totally surprised” when he found out he had won.
And the retired production manager, who will be celebrating his 70th birthday later this year, has big plans for how to spend it.
“We go abroad to Cyprus twice a year so it will probably be going into the holiday fund,” he said.
“We love it so much and we’ve got friends over there so we’ll get to see them too.
“I think we’ll have to treat them to a nice meal when we’re there.”
Delia Law from Inverness, Elaine Forbes from Bucksburn, Gill Gates from Nairn, Kirsten Martin from Aberdeen and Flora Smith from Garve were also lucky recipients of £500 each.
