Around 6,500 homes were left without power in Aberdeenshire this afternoon.
SSE reported an outage covering large swathes of Stonehaven and the AB39 postcode area just before 4.45pm. Three streets in the DD10 area were been affected.
But power was able to be restored just 20 minutes later.
An SSE spokeswoman said its control room was alerted to a fault, which required isolating the area’s power supply.
Engineers were then able to re-route this, bringing customers back online just after 5pm.
An SSE spokeswoman said: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by this evening’s power cut and thank our customers for their patience while our engineers worked to restore power as safely and quickly as possible.”
