A charity dedicated to helping people with neurological conditions and brain injuries is nearing its £3.9 million fundraising target.
Stephen Flynn, MP for South Aberdeen, visited Sue Ryder Neurological Care Centre Dee View Court recently, and learned that the centre is on the cusp of achieving its ambitious aim to fund its expansion.
The new extension will double the capacity of the neurological care centre, allowing it to deliver care to more people across Scotland.
Mr Flynn learned how the Sue Ryder Dee View Court centre has been equipped with a wide range of new facilities to help support the delivery of expert care and rehabilitation to people living with neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s and multiple sclerosis.
Mr Flynn said: “It has been fantastic to visit Sue Ryder Dee View Court today and see such dynamic, person-centred care.
“I’m fully aware of the work of the charity to provide specialist neurological care and know that the services provided by Sue Ryder Dee View Court are very much in line with the Scottish Government’s newly launched framework for action on neurological conditions, as it allows people to live their lives as fully as possible.”
In June 2017, Sue Ryder Dee View Court launched its capital appeal to raise £3.9 million to extend the centre and provide care and support for an additional 20 people.
