A north-east football match has been abandoned half way through due to “safety reasons”. Peterhead FC were playing Forfar Atheltic at home with kick-off at 3pm. But just after half-time, the “referee decided to call the match off due to ‘safety reasons’, the north-east club said on its Twitter page. The club had earlier tweeted “the wind is really causing havoc here with no side controlling the game”. A yellow weather warning is in place for the whole of the UK today as Storm Ciera is forecasted to hit. Flood warnings have also been issued for the north and north-east.
