Works of art have been exchanged to celebrate a project designed link Aberdeen and a Japanese city.
Yesterday, residents of Yubari, a city in the Asian nation, and folk from the Granite City met over a Skype phone call.
The printmaking project involved people in Torry and residents of Yubari taking three photographs on the theme of their city’s landscapes.
David Fryer, trustee for the Torry Development Trust, was invited to take part and photographed Torry Battery, Victoria Bridge and Wellington Suspension Bridge.
The Yurabi images of Shuparo Lake and the old and new Shirogane bridges were printed.
Although it was midnight in the Land of the Rising Sun and -21C, the two parties exchanged gifts.
Mr Fryer said: “I am pleased that we were able to establish a friendship and exchange the artwork that has come together because of this innovative project, and we’re excited to see how this can further explored in the future.”
