A north-east councillor is calling for a safer crossing on a Fraserburgh road.
Fraserburgh and District councillor Brian Topping wants to see a proper pedestrian crossing to replace the traffic island on the A90 South Road.
He said a number of constituents have raised concerns with him and he believes a safer crossing on the busy trunk road is necessary.
The current traffic island “isn’t wide enough for people crossing with prams,” Mr Topping said.
“It’s a very busy road and really should have either a zebra crossing or something with a light that would make traffic stop to allow people to cross safely.”
The section of road in question falls under Bear Scotland’s remit.
Traffic and road safety manager Alan Campbell has written to Mr Topping to say he is willing to discuss the potential for a new crossing with Transport Scotland.
Bear Scotland has requested further details.
