A series of events will be held in libraries throughout Aberdeenshire in the coming weeks to help shape the discussion around preserving the vital service.
A total of 17 informal drop-in sessions will give people the chance to find out more about Live Life Aberdeenshire’s plans for developing libraries and give them the opportunity to share opinions and ideas for future services.
An online survey seeking views on future library provision runs until the end of the month and has already attracted more than 5,000 responses.
The open sessions are intended to complement this survey, seeking the opinions of those who use – and don’t yet use – their local library.
Stonehaven Library has lots of Visit Scotland info for tourists but also for local residents. Pick up a leaflet about local trails for cycling, castles to visit and other gems to explore in Stonehaven and Aberdeenshire. A fantastic resource for all of us. Knowledgeable staff will be on hand in each venue to talk through planned changes and improvements, with a wealth of information about the ways in which libraries fit into community life at the moment.
The first public engagement event takes place at Banchory Library on Saturday, February 22, from 10am-2.30pm.
The full list of events can be found at bit.ly/ENGevts, with the online survey at www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/ABSLIBRARIES.
