An ambitious campaign to bring the first stage of a dolphin-spotting centre to the north-east has almost reached its target.
The Greyhope Bay project has raised more than 80% of its funding goal to build its new wildlife site at the Torry Battery, overlooking Aberdeen Harbour.
So far, £139,000 has been generated for the cause, £116,000 of which was specifically raised by members of the north-east community.
To help the project over the finishing line, a fundraising beach cleaning day has been organised for Saturday March 28, from 10am to 1pm.
Those wishing to participate are asked to put together teams of five from local businesses and organisations, generate sponsorship, and help pick up rubbish from around Torry beach, Torry Battery, Greyhope Bay and Girdleness Lighthouse.
Prizes will be on offer for best fancy dress and more.
