An Aberdeen man has appeared in court following a string of break-ins and thefts in a north-east town.
Darren Warchol appeared in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
The 29-year-old was arrested after incidents in Ellon on Monday night.
Police were investigating incidents at furniture store Frasers of Ellon in the town’s Ythan Terrace and at The Ashvale Fish Restaurant in The Square.
Warchol, whose general address was given as Aberdeen, is accused of assault with intent to rob, assault and being in or on a building with intent to commit theft.
He also appeared charged with housebreaking with intent to steal, theft by housebreaking and resisting, obstructing or hindering police.
Warchol made no plea during the private hearing and was remanded in custody.
The case was committed for further examination and he will appear again before a sheriff in the next seven days.
