The Peterhead Regeneration project may turn out to be one of the best things to happen to the town in many years, Councillor Norman Smith said yesterday.
He was among those at a well-attended community drop-in session at the New Parish Church.
Residents are being invited to share their views as part of an initiative to improve the town centre and protect its heritage.
Director of Community Enterprise, Douglas Westwater, said: “The common things being said were in regards to making the town centre more attractive and having somewhere to celebrate the town’s history.”
Mr Smith added: “I think this project will encourage people to start talking about the positives of the town rather than the negatives.
“If it all comes to fruition, I really think it could be one of the best things to happen to Peterhead.”
Those who were unable to attend the session can email thoughts and ideas to douglas@communityenterprise.co.uk.
