Residents of an Aberdeenshire village came together this weekend to celebrate the 15th birthday of their charity community centre.
The Kinellar Community Hall serves as a registered charity in Blackburn and is among the area’s most thriving focal points.
A red carpet event provided the entertainment with comedian Wray Thomson serving up a side-splitting showcase in the evening whilst local musicians and dance schools also took centre stage, amid the festivities.
Vice chairwoman of the board for the community hall, Arlene Fortune, said: “It was great for the community to come together and celebrate a venue that gives so much to the people who live here.
“We were able to put this day on after we received some funding from the national lottery, and it’s a real achievement to have reached this milestone birthday, given that we receive no external funding.”
