Picture by Kenny Elrick 01/03/2020 Vandals have defaced buildings at a north-east pool. Around 10 possibly “gang-related” tags have been daubed across walls at Tarlair Pools. Further damage was done inside the site and it’s understood more graffiti was spray-painted there while the pavillion was also broken into. Members of the Friends of Tarlair, who want to transform the site into a leading north-east attraction, made the discovery last week. Due to widespread damage, it is believed that numerous individuals are involved in the crime. Treasurer of Friends of Tarlair Lorraine Smith said: “There needs to be CCTV at Tarlair. “Some people may mistake it for being derelict and think it’s okay to spray things all over it but it is not.” It is understood the damage was done between Wednesday evening and Friday morning.
