Celebrity chef Aiden Byrne will delight diners while raising money for the Prince’s Foundation at a very special event in Deeside later this month.
The chef – the youngest recipient of a Michelin star who also appeared on TV show The Great British Menu – will serve up a six-course tasting menu at The Rothesay Rooms in Ballater.
Prince Charles opened the restaurant in 2016, and it is a collaboration of his Dumfries House Trust and local groups.
Mr Byrne has already raised around £300,000 for the duke’s other charity, The Prince’s Trust.
Now the Liverpool-born chef and his sous-chef John Bentley will team up with the Rothesay Rooms’ executive chef Ross Cochrane for the fundraiser.
My Byrne said: “With the six courses, I want to take the diners on a bit of a journey through dishes that I’ve developed over a number of years.
“My team has skills and experience desired by people with disposable income and charitable objectives.
“It’s nice to be in a position to offer our services in that way.”
Prince Charles, through his foundation, helped Ballater regain its footing following Storm Frank.
Princes Charles at the Rothesay RoomsFollowing the success of The Rothesay Rooms and the adjacent luxury gift retailer Highgrove Shop in 2016, the duke then announced the opening of The Carriage as part of the redevelopment of the Old Royal Station.
The event with Mr Byrne will be held on March 19 at 7pm. To book a ticket, priced £120 each, e-mail bookings@rothesay-rooms.co.uk
