Councillors have praised staff at a north-east care home for their efforts to improve for residents.
Durnhythe Care Home in Portsoy has made “significant improvements” following an inspection last September, members of the Banff and Buchan area committee have been assured.
Banff location manager Fiona Stephen also told members the home will be further improved when three social care posts are filled and team-building is established for staff.
“Staff are energised and they are committed to providing the best quality of care possible for the residents.”
Councillor Doreen Mair welcomed the improvements and said:Â “It is good to see the residents enjoying tea dances and learning they are not just sitting on a chair and staring at a wall.”
The care home provides accommodation for up to 35 residents, but the facility is not currently taking in and more residents while electrical works are carried.
