Police have confirmed that a body found on the coastline near Portsoy is that of missing man John Loughrie.
The 51-year-old’s body was located on Friday March 6 after he was reported missing from the Findochty area on Sunday February 9.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
A statement said: “Police can confirm that the body of a man recovered off the coast of Portsoy on Friday, 6 March, 2020, has been formally identified as 51-year-old John Loughrie.
“John had been reported missing from the Findochty area on Sunday, 9 February, 2020.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
