An Aberdeenshire school will be closed from tomorrow as too many staff are in coronavirus self-isolation.
Alford Primary School will be shut to both staff and pupils “from Wednesday”.
It remains unclear when lessons will resume.
Aberdeenshire Council told parents on Tuesday night but confirmed there were no confirmed cases among staff or pupils.
In a statement a spokesman said: “Due to the change in guidance for people who should now practice social distancing or self-isolation it has been necessary to close Alford Primary School to all pupils and staff from Wednesday March 18, due to staff shortages.
“There have been no confirmed cases of Covid-19 in either staff or pupils.
“Whilst I understand this will cause disruption for many families, I hope that you will understand the need to support everyone at this time.”
Staff will work from home to prepare lesson material for the children.
