Four Aberdeen-based charities will be working in partnership to provide essentials to those affected in the outbreak.
Cfine, Social Bite, Aberdeen Cyrenians and Aberdeen Foyer are coming together as part of the Feed the City campaign.
The organisations announced that anyone in crisis as a result of the coronavirus will be able to apply for food, toiletries, baby items and clothing deliveries.
Amongst other services, Aberdeen Cyrenians will be providing hot meals to those in temporary accommodation, people without cooking facilities or individuals struggling with self-care.
Cfine is arranging about 100 food parcels daily and runs food pantry projects to tackle poverty and hunger.
Aberdeen Foyer, which works to tackle youth homelessness, welcomed the collaboration.
Mike Burns, chief executive of Aberdeen Cyrenians, said: “Working together to take care of those in need is vital to ensuring the safety and well-being of the most vulnerable people in our city.
“As the outbreak progresses, there will doubtlessly be many more coming under extreme pressures who may be unable to meet their basic housing and food needs.”
Those who need the support can apply online for a home delivery at www.AC2U.org or by phone on 0300 300 0903 option 8.
Meanwhile, North East Sensory Services (Ness) announced that it was taking action to protect the deaf and blind people who use the charity, its staff and volunteers by scrapping home visits and face-to-face appointments.
All clubs, groups and events have also been cancelled – to be replaced by telephone, email and digital communication where practical.
People referred to Ness for information, equipment or support will be contacted by similar means.
While such organisations have to lodge a formal application to change their remit, regulator OSCR has said it will prioritise all coronavirus-related decisions.
It has issued new guidance telling trustees not to worry if they are unable to hold key meetings or file paperwork.
