Council bosses announced that they would be launching several measures to support youngsters during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Steps have been put in place to ensure that S4, S5 and S6 pupils can continue with their education after the government announced the closure of all schools.
A virtual school helpline has been created to support children and families in need of assistance, and schools across the city will offer emergency childcare for children of key workers.
The care will be accessible to 340 pupils across the city, but council leaders could increase this facility if there is more demand from key workers.
Online learning resources for pupils, parents and guardians will be made available, digital lessons for pupils with no access at home, free lunches and special school provisions are to remain open.
Individual plans have been made for students who are self-isolating in the wake of the global pandemic.
More than 600 teaching and support staff have pledged their support behind the council’s plans to help deliver education and emergency childcare.
